Buying a New Home Comfort System If you're like most people, your home is
your biggest investment. And a new home comfort system is a big investment in your
home! So we offer the following information to help you with your buying decision.
How a Heat Pump Works
The Heat Pump Total Comfort system provides complete comfort.
|
In the summer, it circulates cool air throughout the home while absorbing hot air
and releasing it outside.
In the winter, the heat pump simply reverses the process. You may be surprised to
learn that there is heat in the air on even the coldest days. The heat pump system
absorbs this heat from the outdoor air, raises it to a higher temperature, and then
circulates it throughout your home.

Energy Ratings
Because the heat pump system heats in cold weather and cools in hot weather, it
carries two energy-efficient ratings.
Cooling efficiency is rated by a "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio," also known
as "SEER". The higher the SEER rating are, the more efficient the system. Heating
efficiencies are expressed by the "Heating Seasonal Performance Factor," or "HSPF."
Like SEER, the more efficient the system, the higher the HSPF rating.
